What we store
This site stores your charging inputs (state of charge, target charge, battery capacity,
charger rate, favourite chargers, advanced settings, and simulate-charge status) in a single
first-party cookie on your device, named evcc_prefs. That's it.
What we don't store
No personal data — no name, email, or location. No analytics, no tracking scripts, and no third-party cookies of any kind. This site is fully static: there is no server-side database and no account system, so nothing you enter is ever transmitted anywhere. A strict Content Security Policy on every page blocks this site from loading third-party scripts, fonts, or making network requests to anywhere other than itself.
Why this doesn't need a cookie banner
The evcc_prefs cookie exists purely to remember your own charging preferences
between visits — it's "strictly necessary" for the site's core function, not used for tracking
or advertising, and never shared with anyone. Under the ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary
cookies like this are exempt from requiring consent.
Production vs. staging
The cookie is host-only (no Domain attribute), so the production site and the
staging environment each keep their own independent copy — your data is never shared between them.
Simulate charge
The "simulate charge" feature estimates your charge level using your device's clock. If your device's clock is wrong, the estimate will be too — there's no way around this for a feature that works without any connection to your EV or charger.
Offline support
This site can be installed and used offline. That works by caching the site's own static files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the vehicle list) in your browser's local cache storage — no additional personal data is collected or sent anywhere to enable this.
Clearing your data
You can delete everything this site has stored on your device at any time using the Clear saved data button on the calculator page.
